A historical knife from the Vietnam War is reproduced for the first time.
The Agency fixed-blade from SOG Specialty Knives & Tools follows the SOG tradition of recreating and modernizing historic classics. This knife was created for special CIA operatives in the early days of the Vietnam War. It was designed for clandestine and counter-insurgency teams who lived in the jungle for months at a time and saw vicious close-quarter combat.
This knife has not been reproduced prior to this issue. The lines of the blade and handle have been retained, but SOG has improved the construction and quality with modern materials such as TiNi coatings and epoxy-filled leather washers. These innovations were unknown when the original was created.
The knife has AUS-8 stainless steel for the blade, guard and pommel, which are all coated in a black TiNi. A leather sheath with a sharpening stone also comes with the knife.
The overall length is 12.675 inches with a 7 1/2-inch blade. The knife weighs in at 8.6 ounces. Designated as the AG-02, the Agency has a suggested retail price of $235.
