The Zero Tolerance line knives from Kai-Cutlery/Kershaw is designed for military, law enforcement, fire and rescue, response teams and EMS professionals, and adds two tactical folders available in either plain or partially serrated baldes, and two new automatics.
The 0300 (straight-edge blade) and 0300ST (partially serrated blade) were designed by ZT and Strider and features all black construction. This combat folder is equipped with SpeedSafe manual assisted opening for one-handed blade deployment and locks via a frame lock. The knife can be opened by either a push on the ambidextrous thumb stud or pull back on the blade protrusion. The S30V stainless steel blade has a matte-black Tungsten DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating provides durability and wear and corrosion resistance. The handles are 3-D-machined of G-10. A 3/8-inch hex-head pivot shaft nut makes field adjustments possible. The U.S.-made 300 ZT includes a quad mounting system for tip-up, tip-down and left- or right-handed clip carry. Both 0300 and 0300ST feature a 3 3/4-inch blade, measure 5 1/4 inches closed, and weigh 8 ounces. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $295.
The 350 is a slightly smaller and slightly lighter version of the 0300—10 percent, to be precise. The 0350 is equipped with SpeedSafe for one-handed assisted-opening, even in combat gloves. The blade is S30V stainless steel with a Tungsten DLC coating, and locks with a locking liner. The handles are textured, matte-black G-10 scales and a quad mounting system for tip-up, tip-down and left- or right-handed clip carry. Both 0350 and 0350st feature a 3 1/4-inch blade, measure 4 5/8 inches closed, and weigh 4.8 ounces. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $140.
The 0610 Automatic features fully automatic blade deployment and, as such, is regulated by Federal laws. This knife is only sold through authorized dealers and cannot be shipped through the U.S. Postal Service. The 0610 also features a push-button auto lock. It operates with the push of a button and features a secondary slider lock that prevents the button from being accidentally depressed and deployed. The push-button auto lock was designed to operate easily, even with gloves on. The partially serrated blade is made from 154CM blade steel and the handles are machined. The 0610st features a 3 1/2-inch blade, measures 5 1/4 inches closed, and weighs 5 ounces. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $175.
Knifemakers Grant and Gavin Hawk designed the ZT 0650st Automatic. The 0650st is equipped with ZT’s new CrossFire auto lock. The CrossFire lock requires two motions to work. First slide the lock toward the knife’s spine then pull it down toward the butt. Only then will the blade deploy. The Hawks chose a drop-point blade with partial serration in S30V stainless. The blade bears a non-reflective, matte-black Tungsten DLC coating. The 0650st’s scales are constructed of 6061-T6 anodized aluminum with textured G-10 inlays. The 0650st features a 3 3/4-inch blade, measures 4 7/8 inches closed, and weighs 5.8 ounces. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $190.
The 0650st features fully automatic blade deployment and, as such, is regulated by Federal laws. This knife is only sold through authorized dealers and cannot be shipped through the U.S. Postal Service.
