New York’s new ban on vaguely defined “undetectable” knives or instruments, “commercially manufactured to be used as a weapon,” is now in place. The ban is effective November 1st.

It completely prohibits manufacture and sale. Possession, including carry, is only possible if the knife or instrument is not possessed “with the intent to use unlawfully against another.”

While “intent” is difficult to prove, that may not stop an officer from making an arrest.
