The CRKT Squid II melds the usability of an everyday carry with the attention to detail of a high-end custom design, The new Italian-made Squid™ II OD Green is a bold reimagining of the classic Squid™ folding knife.
Based on the original design by Lucas Burnley, and released in time for National Knife Day on August 24, the Squid™ II features several refinements and upgrades, starting with stonewashed Böhler M390 blade steel for supreme edge retention and wear resistance.
CRKT Squid II: Attractive, Practical
With only 500 units being produced, this limited-run Squid™ II is made to feel just as at home in your pocket as it does on display with the rest of your collection. It has a green Micarta handle for a rugged appearance and long-term durability, and it is larger than the original. The Squid™ II now features a liner lock (a first for the Squid line) that holds the blade safely and securely when open without impacting the sleek exterior that gives the knife a smooth in-pocket feel. Fine machining and rounded spine contribute a level of refinement not previously seen in the Squid™ family.

The new Squid II comes with attractive yet durable OD Green Micarta scales.
“The Squid™ II is far and away one of the finest knives we’ve ever produced,” said Doug Flagg, VP of Marketing & Innovation for CRKT. “This knife combines decades of design experience with the aspirations of what we’re trying to achieve as a brand and we’re confident it’s a knife that will stand the test of time.”
But at the end of the day, the Squid™ II is just as much a workhorse as the original, with both a thumb stud and flipper for deploying the blade with one hand and IKBS bearings for a fast and smooth opening. Add in the long-lasting Böhler M390 steel, and you have a knife that will pay dividends for years to come.
The Squid™ II will be available on August 24, 2022. Read more about it at SQUID™ II (crkt.com), and hang with us here at Knives Illustrated – All Things Knives for all the knife news, gear and reviews.
