The Gerber Gear Savvy is the latest folder to be released by the Portland, Oregon company. In a welcome departure from the company’s recent line of budget-priced imports, the Savvy is an American-made knife. This one is hand-sharpened at the factory and will be made in small batches only.
Gerber Gear Savvy’s Key Features
The Savvy features a 3.5-inch blade of premium 20CV steel with a Wharncliffe profile. Gerber’s pivot lock mechanism secures the blade in the open position. One-handed opening is accomplished with the reversible thumb stud and smooth deployment is enhanced with anti-rotation bronze washers developed for this knife to provide maximum support to the blade with minimum friction.
Savvy In Aluminum Or Carbon Fiber
Models are available with either carbon fiber or aluminum scales. Gerber offers the aluminum models in either gray or Urban Blue colors. You can customize your knife too with materials, colors, and laser marks selected on the Gerber Custom page online. The machined handle design gives special attention to finger placement, delivering a wildly comfortable knife. You can carry it your way using the textured pocket clip for quick access, or through the lanyard hole.
